Eragrostis
Eragrostis is a large and widespread genus of plants in the grass family and is the most economical for most live stock.
Teff
Best used for horses with higher energy needs or horses prone to metabolic diseases. It is a warm-season grass but all horse owners can and should consider Teff as a primary forage. It provides high protein for endurance and good condition, especially for working animals.
Oat hay
Used as a substitute in the absence of Lucerne for grazing, Hay or silage. Used for most livestock which maintains body mass despite the cold weather and poor grazing conditions during the winter season. It is a valuable source of nutrients in winter with a nutrient level almost comparative to Lucerne.
Lucerne
A high concentrate ultimate grass product with high fiber, providing a valuable source of energy, and good for keeping weight and condition on most animals (including game, common chickens and horses) through the tougher winter months. Due to its protein levels, it’s useful for feeding horses that are growing or in intense work, and for brood mares. We typically cut our Lucerne while it is still short which results in our bales being more leafy, maintaining the goodness in the leaves that the product has to offer.
Smutsfinger
Nutritious and high in both protein and energy content. Suitable for most livestock.
Lucerne Pellets
A Nutritious and good substitute to feed your animals in the absence of Lucerne bales, as it helps to maintain the animals condition – especially over the colder and drier months of winter. Our pellets are made from 92% Lucerne and 8% molasses powder and have been made bigger than normal to prevent the smaller birds and game birds from eating them.
POPCORN SWEEPINGS
Factory supplies of popcorn spillage offer a good supply of roughage for goats, pigs and cattle as a filler to the normal concentrates and feeds.
Pine Shavings
Shavings are cut from pine trees to ensure the best quality and absorption ability – this effectively absorbs urine and is often used for Horses and young livestock. Our product is also very popular with bedding for chickens.
